“Clarity doesn’t come before movement —clarity comes because of movement.”

One of the most common reasons people stall at the base of the climb is this belief: “I just need more clarity.”

More clarity about the decision.
More clarity about timing.
More clarity about the outcome.

Clarity is rarely the starting point.
The next steps get more clear as we go down the path.

Here is a profound truth I have discovered - Action brings clarity.

Clarity Is Found in Motion

We want clarity before we act, but growth doesn’t work that way.

The path becomes more clear after movement — not before it.

You don’t see the whole path from the base of the mountain. You see it as you walk it.

“If you’re growing, you will go into what is obvious — not what you think is next.”

Most of the time, God doesn’t reveal the entire plan. He reveals the next obvious stepAnd as you step into what’s obvious, what’s next becomes visible. We may not be able to see the entire path but we can take the next right step.

Growth Reveals What Was Always There

Growth doesn’t create new paths — it reveals paths you couldn’t see yet. The truth is, many answers already exist, you just haven’t walked far enough to see them. Like rounding a corner on a trail you’ve never walked before, movement reveals perspective that standing still never can.

Growth reveals what was always there — you just couldn’t see it yet.

When You Step, You See More

There is a simple progression in the climb:

When I step → I see more
When I move → what’s obvious appears
When I act → clarity meets me

Action doesn’t eliminate uncertainty, it reduces the noise in our head.

Each step sharpens discernment.
Each step removes options that were never yours to carry.
Each step strengthens confidence — not because the path is clearer, but because you are.

You Haven’t Missed It. You Just Haven’t Walked Far Enough

Many people believe they’ve missed God’s will. That they waited too long or failed to see something important. But often, the truth is simpler:

“You didn’t lack clarity — you lacked action. You couldn’t see it because you hadn’t walked far enough.”

Clarity isn’t withheld as punishment. It’s revealed progressively — in partnership with obedience.

Movement Builds Discernment

Action teaches you things thinking never will.

It teaches:

What fits
What doesn’t
What energizes you
What drains you

Standing still keeps all options theoretical. Movement turns theory into truth.

And once something is true, clarity follows naturally. It is not forced...each step confirms the path.

Start Where You Are — Again

There can be times after we start that we look up and realize…this isn’t the path. The next blog will speak on the struggle - it will come.  Struggle doesn’t mean you are off course.

There are times after we start that discernment shows maybe this path isn’t for us. Starting again doesn’t mean you failed the first time. It means you learned enough to take the next step even if the path is shifting.

The climb isn’t about flawless execution.
It’s about faithful progression.

You don’t need certainty.
You need to get started with peace.

Reflection: Move to See

  1. What step are you delaying because you want clarity first?

  2. What action could you take that would reveal more than thinking ever has?

  3. Where might God be inviting you to step into what’s obvious rather than what feels ideal?

  4. What could become clearer if you simply moved forward?

Closing Prayer

God, help me trust that clarity follows obedience. Give me courage to step into what’s obvious, even when what’s next is unclear. Meet me in my movement, sharpen my discernment, and reveal what I cannot see until I walk forward. Teach me to move in faith — knowing You guide each step as I go.

Amen.
